People-Hub respects your privacy. This document explains what personal data we collect when you use the service, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under EU data-protection law (GDPR) and equivalent regimes.
People-Hub is operated by Alessandro Giangrande, an individual based in Italy. For privacy enquiries write to the contact address at the bottom of this page. When People-Hub incorporates as a company, this section is updated with the registered entity's details.
Account information you provide (name, email address, profile picture). Content you publish (Chats, contributions, recognitions, replies, video introductions). Usage signals captured to operate the ranking and recommendation system (votes, taps, dwell, viewport). Technical data your device sends with each request (IP address, user-agent, language, referer, app version). For every request that reaches the service we record an operational log line carrying that technical data plus the HTTP method, URL path, response status, response time, and a server-generated request identifier — this is what lets us detect when the service is broken. Anonymised browser-performance measurements (page load timing, interaction latency, layout stability) are collected and associated with a coarse country code only, not with your account. Anonymised page-view counters (which paths you visit, where you arrived from, device class and country) are collected for product analytics — no user identifier, no IP retention, no cross-site tracking.
To provide the service you signed up for (lawful basis: contract performance). To keep the service safe (lawful basis: legitimate interest in security and abuse prevention). To improve the product through aggregate analytics (lawful basis: legitimate interest, balanced against your rights). To communicate with you about your account (lawful basis: contract performance and, where required, consent).
Categories of processors: a hosting provider for the web tier, a hosting provider for the API tier, a managed Postgres database, an authentication provider, a video hosting provider, and an analytics warehouse. Each acts as a data processor under a written agreement and may not use your data for any purpose beyond running the service. Operational alert messages — naming the URL path and HTTP status of failed requests, without any user identifier, IP address, or request body — are forwarded to a private operations channel used by the operator for live monitoring. When the list of named sub-processors materially changes, you will be notified by email at least 14 days in advance, in line with GDPR Article 28(2).
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another transfer mechanism approved under GDPR Article 46.
Account data is kept while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion (security, dispute resolution, legal obligation). Published content is removed when you delete it or your account. Operational logs and runtime function logs are retained on the platform providers for up to 7 days. Anonymised performance measurements are retained for up to 30 days. We do not maintain separate archives beyond these windows.
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). To exercise any right, contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.
You can delete your account from your account settings (Profile → Settings → Delete account) or via the public form at /account/delete. Deletion removes your published content and personal data within the timeframe stated above.
People-Hub is not directed to children. The minimum age is 16 years in the European Economic Area (GDPR Article 8) and 13 years elsewhere. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone below the applicable age; if we discover such an account, we delete it and the associated data without delay. A parent or legal guardian who believes a child below the minimum age has signed up can ask us to delete the account at the contact address below.
We set a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and operate security checks. We do not set advertising cookies and do not use cross-site or cross-app tracking. See the Cookie Policy for the full list.
Material changes are announced on the service and by the contact email associated with your account at least 14 days before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this document marks the most recent revision.
