We have three free weeks before we need to be back east for family stuff. Help us pick: rainforest + coast (PNW), high desert + green chile (NM), or autumn ridges (Smokies). Be specific — what would *you* do with those three weeks, and what would you skip?
Pacific Northwest, but only if you can stay through mid-October. The larch belt turns gold for about ten days and nobody outside the locals knows. Most travel channels go in summer and miss the actual magic. Base out of Leavenworth, do the Enchantments loop from below.
